Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef and the former Institute of Culinary Education instructor, is a TV personality. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef is a hit with her signature spiky blond locks and pumped up appearance, offers simple techniques that anyone can master. Chef Burrell worked in New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary practices and the environment. She also competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. As a child in the upstate New York area, Chef Burrell developed a passion for food and cooking from a young age. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stage for her following her graduation with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an amazing experience for me. I couldn't learn or do enough. Following her graduation, Chef Burrell was able to spend a full time in Italy taking classes at Italy's Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. While in Italy Burrell developed a deep appreciation and understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. This is a huge influence on the way she cooks. Burrell serves on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens up the lives of kids who struggle. Additionally, she is an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Advocate in which she promotes awareness of young diabetics. She is a frequent guest to speak at conferences and tours across the nation in her mentorship task. Through her culinary adventures, Anne has always said I feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to share my passion for life with people.
